Hi. my four year old west highland terrier recently had a cystotomy for the removal of stones which I might add could not be found in the bladder when he was operated on, apparently they had moved themselves to the prostatic urethra and he would probably pass the stones himself. He has been put on a special urinary diet which I am finding impossible to give to him, disguised or otherwise. I would appreciate any advice on any tablets or any other food I can give him which will help in the prevention of these stones. Thank you Lizzie

I eventually paid Dr. Remillard he http://www.petdiets.com/ to formulate a diet for him. She consulted with my veterinarian. The fee covers lifetime consultation regarding the diet. I'm careful about what my dog eats, I monitor his urine PH, and occasionally I have his urine spun down to see if there are crystals. So far, some three years later, so good. --Marshall |
