Hey all,

Just wondering if any owners out there of epileptic dogs have
experienced a long seizure (+30min) and if there was any brain damage
from it?

Yes. Our yellow lab, Lady, had one seizure after another when she was 4
years old. It left her paralyzed and pretty much unaware of the world
around her. We had to put her to sleep.

After the 2nd seizure in less than 10 minutes we called the vet and he
told us to give her another dose of her medicine. By the time she had
the 4th we decided to make an emergency visit to the vet. By the time we
got there the damage was done, but he gave her a shot to stop the
seizures, which worked, but he didn't think she would ever be the same.
He told us to keep an eye on her to see if there was any improvement,
but there wasn't so we had to make one of the hardest choices we've ever
made.
