This person is clueless about the breed. Run, don't walk.

Every Pit Bull rescue is full and gets calls like crazy. IF you are able to
foster the pups, you may find a rescue org willing to assist in rehoming.

Good luck - do separate them, as littermates are a handful and require so
much more time and energy if together. It's a big job but I would hope if
I'd been born a puppy and ended up in a shelter ready to be PTS, that
someone would go out on a limb for me too.

I informed the woman who now has them that I would be willing to
take them for a while but I know that I could not keep them for a long
time (which I know it will take to find a home as they want them
adopted together),and then get rid of them and I am not in a position
to keep them as I already have a dog of my own. The woman who has them
says they could easily be placed now but is kind of giving me a guilt
trip about taking them now because she has so many dogs of her own
plus foster dogs etc. and that if I can not keep them until they get
adopted she will look for other options.
Maybe I am being naive but I would think the fact that I am willing
to take in 2 untrained puppies and do all the work that this entails
she should be glad and take me up on the offer, any thoughts???
