My puppy, who is 14 month old medium mixed breed dog, likes to pee in the
lower corner of my mattress. I thought at first she did it because the mattress was on the floor and since i had gotten it from my mother that she smelled my mothers dogs on it. Well about a month ago i got a brand new mattress box spring and frame so its no longer laying on the ground and the other day i found where she'd pee'd on my brand new sheets and mattress. I can't seem to ever catch her doing it i just get in bed and theres this big wet spot. Does anyone have any idea on why she's doing this or how i can get her to stop. I try to keep my bedroom shut when i'm not around but sometimes i forget i'm not perfect any advice would be welcomed other then that she's a perfect puppy Daisy's mommy |

Sometimes lapses in house training, even if we think they might have a logical explanation, are caused by physical problems (e.g. a UTI). Second, don't let her do that. Really. There are no magic solutions. The *only* way to stop the behavior is to make sure the dog is not allowed unsupervised access to the bedroom. Bar her from accessing the bedroom when you cannot supervise her, watch her carefully so that she cannot sneak away and have accidents, and begin re-house training her, starting over from scratch. Also, make sure you clean up the area where she's peed with a good enzymatic cleaner. That will remove the scent well enough that your dog cannot smell it, and will hopefully make her less likely to want to pee in the same spot again. -- Shelly (Warning: see label for details) http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

my bed seems to be the only place that she uses the bathroom on. She
doesn't do it anywhere else in the house. "shelly" wrote in message ... dhelderman wrote: Does anyone have any idea on why she's doing this or how i can get her to stop. Well, I suppose you'll just have to continue allowing her to do pee on your bed, then. Good luck with that! -- Shelly (Warning: see label for details) http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

Nevermind I'll work on it myself without asking anyone in here advice. There is really only one way to solve your problem, and you were given advice on how to go about it the *first* time you posted. Since you obviously do not intend to use the advice you were already given, there is not a whole lot anyone here can do for you. Not that you'd take their advice if there was. -- Shelly (Warning: see label for details) http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

Could it be that your dog was sleeping on the bed and accidentally peed?
My shepherd left a wet spot on her blanket while sleeping. She actually did it two or three times over a two day period and because I was in the room watching TV (evening time), I know she was sleeping and that it was accidental. She had an episode of the same thing several months earlier. She is 3.5 years of age. dhelderman wrote: My puppy, who is 14 month old medium mixed breed dog, likes to pee in the lower corner of my mattress.
