We have a hobby of raising Golden Retrievers and our site is
http://goldpups.googlepages.com. Please check it out. I would be happy
for someone to critique my site!
Thanks in advance!

My critiques are not of your site, but of your breeding practices. Sorry if
that's not what you had in mind.

You have two pet dogs, that are obviously far from show or working stock.
The bitch has one champion in the sixth generation, and that's it; your male
has a handful in the fifth and sixth generations. That's what you call
"champion lines?" (A BYB term that has zero meaning, by the way.) Your dogs
are so far removed from well bred stock that it's laughable if it wasn't so
sad. When an educated person looks at a pedigree and sees dog after dog with
no titles, no health tests and names like "Fluffy Buffy" it is immediately
obvious that these are generations of poorly bred dogs. Since Golden
Retrievers are not exactly rare, and the rescue groups are overrun with
similarly bred dogs, just why are you producing litter after litter?
Certainly not for the "potential to succeed in the show, in the conformation
ring, or as hunters on the field" since neither of your dogs, nor their
ancestors for many generations, have ever been proven in those arenas. Since
anyone seeking a pet would be wise to find a responsible breeder who has
proven their dogs, plus done health testing, since every litter bred for
show or working has pets in it, I just don't see a need for your litters of
ill-bred, untested and just plain random puppies. Except to make you money.
And that isn't a very good reason, is it?
