Default Puppy Beds

Hello,

I have just bought a lovely puppy - his name is Whiskey and he is a
lovely cross breed - something between a Skye Terrier and some sort of
other terrier breed. Anyway, I have only ever kept dogs from grown up
age before and I have a couple of questions I would like to ask:

a) I have a cat - is it ok to leave the cat to play with the puppy?
They have so far just sniffed each other out
b) Should I buy a proper bed for the dog or a puppy bed. I did a
search on google and found some sort of special puppy bed which was at
the following stores:
http://www.petplanet.co.uk/category....=139&page_id=1
http://www.petfoodstore.co.uk/acatalog/Puppy_Bed.html
http://www.dogsandcatspetshop.com/acatalog/dogbeds.html

Should I get a special puppy bed or get a small proper dog bed and wait
for the dog to grow into it?

Thanks,

John

I think it's best for the two to be supervised whenever they're together.
That means, if you leave the house, put them in separate rooms.

my puppy loves to chew on anything soft, like blankets or bedding, so
in my case a puppy/dog bed is out of the question for now, also i'm not
sure how far along in the housetraingn you are, but if something is
absorbant like bedding, the puppy could pee on it and not have a
problem laying in it, as oppossed to a non pourous surface where the
pee will just sit there, they are less likely to pee where they sleep.

good luck

Congrats on the new addition.

I don't have a puppy bed. The dog chooses where he wants to be and
interestingly, in my office, he chooses to be in the crate I have for
him there with the door open.

With the benefits of crate training the pooch, it's something to
consider getting before any dedicated puppy bed which they may end up
not choosing to use.

Best Regards,
