Default Miss Brown Supervises the Laundry

Harriet has only been through one move with me. She's lived most of her
life in this house, so it's not surprising that she's a little unamused
at all the moving chaos that has suddenly taken over her world. There
are piles and stacks and heaps of junk everywhere. I spent most of
yesterday doing laundry (mostly washing blankets and sheets that have
been in sitting in boxes for the past six years). Harriet likes laundry
days, because she gets to be surrounded by warm clothes and blankets and
stuff. Last night, as I was watching TAR, I folded another load of
clothes while Harriet crashed out. I love the way her cheek is resting
on her leg, and her lips are all squooshed up.

Pandora, bless her heart, has been through umpty moves, so this is all
old hat to her. "Yay, boxes! Yay, newspaper!" She's not the least bit
concerned about what's going on, but good grief is she ever a pain in
the behindermost. I nearly carried her out to the car this morning,
because she'd wedged herself into a Rubbermaid tub full of towels and
wash cloths.

I wish she were my supervisor. She seems very relaxed.

Serves her right. You'll just have to keep telling yourself "don't pack
the cat. don't pack the cat."

I didn't realize the move was going to happen so quickly. Good luck with
it all -- you'll be happy when it's over!

Ahhhhh Miss Brown looks like she washed, dried, folded, and packed the
clothes.
Lady and Buck have made several moves with me and whenever they see
large cardboard boxes. They stick close by, cux they think we are
moving and they want to be sure to be in the truck.
They have never been in a crate during their 13 and 14 years of life
except when we move and I don't want to lose em at a rest area..etc etc
Since I have had the young dogs. I now have crates for a variety of
reasons. Lady and Buck are just calming down and getting the message we
aren't moving. They are funny and smart. It is not as if we have moved
a dozen times either.
Happy packing. Are you getting rid of anything or taking every
posession? I have boxes unopened from this last move 8 years
ago.....Yikessssss.

Be Free,
Judy

Good Ol' Murphy moved often enough that her ears would go down
when the cardboard boxes came out for the next move.
Thankfully, her last years were stable (other than when I ripped
out the carpet, but that's another thread).

That's because she knows her minions will do her bidding.

Serves her right. You'll just have to keep telling yourself "don't pack
the cat. don't pack the cat."

Or, at least, "If you pack the cat, don't forget the litter box!"
Pandora's mamma did something similar. On her last move, she
sneaked into one of the first truckloads, so that she could better
supervise goings-on at the new house. Pandora comes from a long
line of adventurers.

I didn't realize the move was going to happen so quickly. Good luck with
it all -- you'll be happy when it's over!

Thanks! I only wish it were going *more* quickly. I won't be able
to move the big stuff until Sunday/Monday, so until then, I'm just
taking a carload every day and dropping it off after work. I should
be all done, and the old place cleaned, by the middle of next week,
though. Huzzah!
