Default Anything to offset offensive odor?

My neighbor has been asking me to feed his dogs when he is at work.
They're wonderful dogs and I'm happy to help but I'm utterly sickened
by the odor of the Alpo. I wear a surgical mask but it doesn't much
help. Is there anything I can do so I won't smell the dog food?
Thanks to anyone who can help.

A dab of Mentholatum under your nose.

Or pinch your nose shut?
