Default My Stoopid Cocker

I really get tired of her peeing on the floor, carpet, sofa, my truck, your
truck, where ever! If you talk sweet to her, she pees. If you yell at her,
she pees more. If you pet her, she pees. If the phone rings, she pees.
She is one pissed of cocker for sure.

I was cleaning up her peeing on the kitchen floor when I got home from work.
I had let her in when I got home and she ran all over the house (checking it
out) and then came up to me and immediately did her low crawl pee routine
and peed all over the floor.

I got pissed and stood up real quick and knocked one of those 1 or 2 pound
Hershey bars from my hand and it fell to the floor. The damn cocker grabbed
it before I could grab her and at the exact same time my wife came home and
opened the front door. The cocker lit out through the door, pissing all the
way, while growling with the huge ass candy bar in her mouth.

She finally came home and is laying on her bed in front of the fireplace.
She looks kinda pukish to me. Maybe she finally pissed herself to death or
something.

This is very common...my parents had a cocker, and you couldn't pet her when
arriving home (after being gone for awhile.) It wasn't a lot of pee, just a
dribble, but it was still annoying.

Don't give it any water for a couple of days.

She was trying to keep you from diabetic shock.

1. have you had her checked for a bladder infection?
2. I know how mad it can make you --I had one that would beg at the
door---lemme in lemme in--I gotta crap----

She was housetrained and had been for years-- but for some reason decided to
start throwing temper tantrums via poop.

The situation eventually resolved itself one day when I just happened to be
sweeping and she did it right in front of me---she avoided me and the broom
for at least a week--but she did start pooping outside again.

You should wait until she's finished. It'd be easier that way.

This is true of any cocker I've ever seen. When you see a cocker owner
walking their dog and you go "Oh look at the cute doggie!" or
whatever... the owner will rear back on that leash 'cause they know if
the person approaches, that cocker is gonna pee.

Submissive wetting... every cocker does it but Joe. And I'm not so
sure about him.

I never heard of this, but we have a Bichon/Cocker mix and he usually
dribbles a little when he greets me home.

You haven't? I've found it on a few Cocker sites.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Cocker_Spaniel
http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/rev...rspaniels.html
"Compared to other breeds, Cockers are more likely to lose bladder control
when happy or frightened. Of course, most Cockers do not do this, but some
do... and it can be a VERY frustrating problem to live with. "

I don't know if it's bad breeding or just a common weakness?
