I dunno how I managed to post this to *health (twice, even
ferpetessakes!). That was certainly not my intention. Hrmf. Anyway... shelly wrote: Turns out, Miss Brown is not keen on taking walks in the rain. Who knew?! Granted that 4am walks in the rain aren't really my idea of a good time, either, it could have been worse. It was fairly warm, and I actually remembered my umbrella. Unfortunately, I still cannot find my rain boots (or any of my other shoes), and because I didn't want to get the tennies I needed to wear to work wet, I took her out in my slippers. Not the smartest thing I've ever done, but I did *not* melt. Harriet, on the other hand... Let's just say that she was unamused. Every few steps, she shook herself and looked up at me to see if we could go home yet. And that's it from the Dog Abusing Thug HQ. -- Shelly (Warning: see label for details) http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

Act II Scene 1 coming up shortly. The saving grace for poor Pan is that it looks like the rain is a bit lighter, I may decide to put a jacket on her, I think I may have to invest in a rain slicker for Harriet (and one for me, too, as I seem to've lost mine somehow). Silly, but what can I say? She is beyond pathetic. and there should be geese that she can startle. Well, geese ought to improve matters immeasurably. And, if not, just tell her that there are those who *do* sympathize. Not me, mind you, but bet Harriet does. -- Shelly (Warning: see label for details) http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

Pan kept shaking every time a drop fell on her from the trees, but got over it after the first mile or two. Well, geese ought to improve matters immeasurably. Having puny little geese thumb their collective beaks at one's big bad self is not good, yaknow? Fortunately, it was made up for by the Mallard who was caught crossing the trail as we came around a curve, and squacked at her good and loud. And, if not, just tell her that there are those who *do* sympathize. Not me, mind you, but bet Harriet does. It was a lovely walk. We passed maybe 5 or 6 people during the 5 miles (and no dogs; this place is usually packed with dogs). It was so still and peaceful, and a lake surrounded by trees in their fall glory is just so beautiful. Khan did seem quite puzzled by the whole enterprise - since when do we go on long walks on weekdays? I did wonder about one thing though. When the entire trail goes around a huge lake, why is it necessary to put up big ass signs saying 'Lake Trail' with arrows pointing in both directions? Suja |
