When I went to one of the kindergarten classes at work today, I saw
that each desk had an "I Voted" poster on it. I told them that I had voted today, too, and asked who they had voted for. It was explained to me that they had voted for vegetables and carrots had won as the favorite. I said that I hadn't been voting for vegetables, but then I had to add, "Actually, come to think of it..." The kids looked at me like they could hear the sound of chirping crickets, but at least the teacher and the mom who was helping out in the class laughed. -- Paula "Anyway, other people are weird, but sometimes they have candy, so it's best to try to get along with them." I vote for this as the best political story of 2006. Campaign slogan, bumper stickers, buttons and t-shirts for the next presidential elections: "Vote for your favorite vegetable". Send all royalties to Paula and the kindergarten class. |

I spent almost 16 hours yesterday at my local elementary school as a poll worker. At the polling place I go to, you get a little sticker that says "I Voted," and you are encouraged to stick it on your chest to encourage others to do the same. Peer pressure, you know. Sadly, the design of the sticker makes it impossible to alter it to read "I Feel Bloated." |
