One hairy toothless wonder of a dog. Who has suddenly decided that

He doesn't hear too well (unless food is involved).

He doesn't know how to walk on a leash anymore.

He must protect me from passing cars (!!!).

He must chase squirrels that are up on the tree tops.

He can grab food from hands.

It's like he woke up one day and decided to try being a whole different dog.
Since this is *clearly* not my dog, any takers?

I have a feeling that you'd find out he's the very same dog at
about the same time someone else took you up on your offer.

Also, Harriet says that it's perfectly normal to chase squirrels
that are up on the tree tops. Actually, what she said was "Duh!"
She also said that it's not Khan's fault if he grabbed food from
people's hands. *Someone* taught him that it was acceptable. And,
we won't mention situational deafness. That seems to be a
congenital fault in some dogs, and the less said about it, the
better.

I say sell him for parts and start over.

The next one is sure to be a winner :-)

Sell him to the National Enquirer as proof of alien abduction.

That's because we all know he's a mamma's boy, and that, delightful
though he certainly is, he'd be a royal pain in the behindermost if
anyone tried to abscond with him.

Honestly, I don't know what's gotten into the boy; I suspect not
going to the dog park for 4 straight days is taking its toll,

Well duh! He's clearly having a psychotic break!

He used to have sense enough to recognize that things on the
trees, he doesn't have a prayer of catching.

Nah. He just didn't have very lofty goals before.

While 'tis true that a certain person has taught him that, and
also wonders why he is grabby with him, *I* certain have not,
and he definitely knows better.

And who says dogs don't generalize well?

I couldn't believe it when he woo-woo'd at me and then tried to
run away.

Ha! Maybe he's channelling Elliott? Elliott was a very good boy,
but every once in awhile, he'd suffer from demonic possession.

I have a feeling they're going to be very sore.

Better them than you.

nice loooong walks in addition to our normal ones, and one of them involved
lots of off-leash time where he could (and did) act like he's been
possessed.

It may be his GSD side. Molly is a very conscientious and obedient
dog. But every once in a while, she turns into Naughty Dog. I
haven't tracked the full moons or anything, but I have to wonder.
Yesterday she was constantly hopping in and out of the bathtub and
going in and out of my closet. She knows she can hang out in the
other bathtub if she wants to but not the one in my bathroom and she
also knows she can go anywhere in my room but my closet (I like to
pretend I start out with dog hair free clothes, at least). So she
kept doing those things every chance she got. Today she is normal
again after a "what the hell is going on with you?" conversation.
You'd swear yesterday had never happened with her halo and everything
done right attitude now firmly attached once again.

Your marketing is all wrong.

You should keep reminding people that its bbrrrrrrr cold outside. Then
advertise him as a free, self heating foot warmer. No batteries
required.

Maybe its going to snow soon and he's gotten advance word from the
mothership?

Might not be too far off the mark, since its freakin cold here all of a
sudden. Can definitely feel snow in the wind.

He used to have sense enough to recognize that things on the trees, he
doesn't have a prayer of catching.

Mid life crisis? The dog equivalent of getting a Porsche and a
raquetball partner?

I couldn't believe it when he woo-woo'd at me and then tried to run
away. We had a crash course in consequences. While I think we'll be
back to normal after dog park time, I kinda feel bad for his
playmates. I have a feeling they're going to be very sore.

This is hysterical!

Seriously, if he sees an open car door, he'll hop in. He may rethink that
after the car ride is over, but it's pretty easy to get him to abscond.

So, between two of the World's Most Perfectest Dogs, we've got one
Eeevil-Up-to-No-Good-Demon-Possessed dog? It all makes sense.

Better them than you.

Pretty much. They may not be on talking terms with him tomorrow, though.

If only it would, I'd let him keep on acting like a dog possessed.
Unfortunately, it is not cold enough for that yet.

Could be. He's out there, nuzzling his Red Gorilla even as I type. This is
so not like him.

This is hysterical!

His "friends" wouldn't think so. I'm just hoping that they're all as wound
up and crazy as he is. We'll find out soon enough.
