About six weeks ago I got my first dog - a maltese terrier mix and
weighs 10 pounds. She is a year and a half old and I got her from the humane society. Is rawhide good? I have heard conflicting things. I have stopped giving them to her when she ate a thin strip in 30 minutes. She has had three rawhides. I had bought her a bag of those thin strips of rawhide. |

They devoured them quickly, but they were safe and my dogs really enjoyed them. Has anyone tried Bully (muscle) Sticks with their dogs? Thoughts on these? Damnfine tasty, says Miss Brown. I think I'll take her word for it. -- Shelly (Warning: see label for details) http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

Compressed rawhide can still cause impactions. That's good to know. I ceased with all rawhides a couple of years ago. Sounds like it was a good move. Roxy would probably love to bury a few in my bed, where she just this morning buried her dental bone... They don't fare too well in the washing machine, by the way. -- Lynne http://picasaweb.google.com/what.the.hell.is.it/ "First get your facts; then you may distort them at your leisure." -- Mark Twain |

Better than some of the things my dogs have put in my bed! http://groups.google.com/group/rec.pets.dogs.behavior/msg/f6e0b7ea13951163 -- Shelly (Warning: see label for details) http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

My daughter was horrified when Roxy carried one of the prized dead mice into her bed. And when I joked, "hey, at least it wasn't *my* bed!" I thought her head was going to start spinning. -- Lynne http://picasaweb.google.com/what.the.hell.is.it/ "First get your facts; then you may distort them at your leisure." -- Mark Twain |

I'm afraid my approach to child rearing would be similar to my approach to dog ownership: kid's job #1 would be to entertain and amuse me. -- Shelly (Warning: see label for details) http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |
