You're kidding! The small animal hospital is right next to
the large animal hospital, too.

I have no idea why they'd say that. And direct them to a vet hospital 5
hours away. Maybe the small animal hospital doesn't deal with the large
animal hospital, and the large animal hospital doesn't do dogs since they're
traditionally not considered large animals?

Maybe they can sneak the dog in by calling it the world's first carnivorous
pony?

Depending on who you know, teaching hospitals can get away with a lot.

My neighbor in grad school was a vet student at VA Tech. Our friend
injured his ankle and had a workup at the student health services, which as
usual found nothing wrong. So my friend x-rayed him at the vet school. He
found the fracture student health services missed.

All the problems with dogs health is that factory made food. That is a pure poisen. My dog now is eating food I cook for him, like in the old country of Europe 40 years ago. People and dogs, cats were eating the same food and all of us were healthy.

All of them? Excellent! So if I start feeding my dog people food,
will that mean she won't get any more tumors?

That is a pure poisen.

And that is pure alarmism.

like in the old country of Europe 40 years ago.

I'm pretty sure that Europe was never a country, old or otherwise.

People and dogs, cats were eating the
same food and all of us were healthy.

I assume you mean that dogs were healthier in the past? I've heard
the claim before, but I've yet to see anything like proof that it
has any basis in reality.

Oh, this one is easy: in the past, dogs were less likely to
face the debilitation and disability that come with old age.

Ah! Must be that new math at work again, because no one but a loon
would think that "shorter lifespan" = "healthier".
