I'd say that clearly, this is not going to happen, and since our
medium-sized dogs are 3 and 5, it appears we're going to be in the
medium-sized mutt business for quite some time.

I think you missed one

:-D

Silly Tara, puppies don't count as dogs!

You kidding?

IMO, they count as at least 3 dogs.

Speaking of puppies, Annie's about 8 months old, and apparently has been
studying up in the Terrier Handbook.

Anyone want to buy a slightly used puppy? Will consider selling for parts.

I'd like the ears and the tail, thank you!

No can do. Those are the premium parts. They're going to the highest
bidder.

Oh, you have noooooo idea.

Of course it completely unfair (to both of us) that I'm working with a
13 week old GR puppy three times a day. Nothing makes you feel like more
of a success than a biddable 13 week old GR baby who thinks every single
thing you do is not only brilliant, but SOOOOO interesting. And who
wants to do it too!

Then I get to go home to the 8 month old terror who's main comment these
days is "talk to the butt".

We were in our tricks class last night, and between my having had three
loooong clicker sessions with the baby puppy, a full day of walking
pups, plus another training session with yet another person and their
pup, and Annie's being indoors for WAY too long because I was out doing
all that stuff....well, between all that, we just sat in the corner in
tricks class and glared at all the other owners with their dogs. Well, I
glared. Annie just barked. I had just clicked way too many dogs all day
long. And by the time I got home to my own dog, my timing had been used
and abused. It just wasn't gonna happen.

Lesson learned: don't over do it with work. Cuz I'm going to have to
live with this bratty little squirt for a LONG time. And yes, her
nickname yesterday was "bratty squirt", as in "Ok, FINE, we'll spend TWO
hours in the dog run tomorrow, you Bratty Squirt". One hour down, one
more to go later this afternoon. I should be a bit thawed out by then.

Good thing she's the cutest thing I've ever seen.

uh huh! If they weren't so cute, we'd cook 'em.

Being a vegetarian, I'd have to feed her to the cats.
But that would be their vote anyway.
