Ling-Ling wants to poop at 1:15 am. I'd like to break her of this habit!

Her last meal is usually 4pm, there's a poop after that and sometimes
an 11pm poop, but then there's this 1:15 am poop! She gets 1/2 cup of
Eukanuba 3x a day.

Have you tried just telling her to go back to sleep? She may just be in
a pattern, rather than a NEED.

wildhack whittled the following words:
Comet==Bear - His child reports that the other dogs are afraid of him
and he HATES his crate and sleeps with his boy.

And here we go, The family on a race to ruin a perfectly good dog.
That dog doesn't hate it's crate, it threw a tantrum wanting attention, the
family gave in, and the puppy has their number. This really pisses me off.
The puppy now will convince the family it hates everything, and they will
cater to it's demands and a problem barker in the making. They won't crate
the puppy because it hates the crate, and when it starts tearing up stuff,
it's going to be the puppies fault. Intervene NOW

We didn't talk with the mom, which is something we obviously need to do.

Obviously, good luck
Spearhead this problem. You KNOW the puppy doesn't hate crates, but they
are nurturing a separation anxiety issue that will only grow worse if they
incubate it. Which is what they are doing. If they nip it in the bud NOW,
they can avoid many issues in the future. Puppy needs NILIF.
Put puppy in crate, let puppy out when QUIET. Reward for compliance, not
brattiness. Take puppy out often enough it's requests to leave the crate
are not need based. The first week a puppy goes to it's new home is when
the VAST majority of problem puppy issues are set up for the rest of that
dog's life. Apparently this home needs some puppy pointers. That pup had an
excellent start. Hate to see it ruined now.

Boy, I couldn't agree more.

The fact that Comet (otherwise known as "At's My Boy") was the first to
figure out LOTS of things (including that the crate is pretty cool)
suggests that he was absolutely going to try and Puppet Master a thing or
two in his new home.

But if they're not up to the task, they're going to end up making a real
problem dog out of a very clever boy.

Intervention is a must, IMO.

Congratulations Montana on a job well done!
I thought you had decided to change Nemo's name to Neo. Some posts
indicate Nemo and sometimes Neo? At any rate in the event that it is
Neo. I believe the Asian version of her name Nio has some merit. (Nio
was a Palace Guard in Japan) Interesting that you named a puppy Ling
Ling....it has a an Oriental flair.
So, there is absolutely no chance that Ling Ling already has a home.
The one she is in right now?
I haven't read every single puppy post. You may have already answered
my question. I was wondering if you told the owner's of the pups that
you would take them back if things don't work out? I am not suggesting
that you should have, just curious if you did?
I really don't expect any of the new owners will want to part with
them ever!!!!

Be Free.....Judy
