......as far as worrying about your dog's immunity, I wouldn't,
not at this point.
You mentioned these dogs were rescued and that they were young.
Right now it's something to note, depending on whether there are
any other physical symptoms that are troubling.
Oh, OK. I kind of thought this at first, but not knowing
specifically made me want to ask anyway.
There are NO other physical symptoms. My puppies are in the
greatest shape ever, play constantly, run constantly, and their mood
is great. No excessive sleeping or moping and no unwarranted
aggression either.
Hold old are they?
They are almost 3 years of age.
How long have you had them?
Um, I would say 2 years and 10 months (assuming 3 years is perfectly
accurate, I am probably off by a month or so).
Were they just in a bad situation or really skinny with numerous
physical problems?
Actually, ALMOST the opposite. They were bloated with worms (the
kind dogs get) and other things we could not identify. The animal
hospital eventually told us that some of the other insect related
stuff was just that. They found what appeared to be worms (like
earthworms), grubs, crickets, plastic, wood, and a few other things.
I forgot the name of the test, but it was something about examining
their fecal matter.
Once we got their diet regulated and they had expelled most of the
toxins and debris, they decreased weight by about 4 pounds each.
The situation they were in was they had dug a small hole underneath a
tool shed (in the mud) and were hiding from the other dogs in the
field, which was mostly comprised of mud and rocks.
They have since grown into very healthy, very active, and loving
mutts.
Thanks again!
