Default Skin blackened on dogs bottom

spoke these words of wisdom in
:

Hello,

I have a 10 year old Brittany girl in generally good health. For
some years she has had a black growth on her tummy in summer (when
her allergies are worst). My vet said it was yeast, if memory
serves, and recommended topical vinegar, which got rid of it.

This season the vinegar worked on her tummy but she got a very similar
looking condition on inside of hind legs, adjacent to mammaries. This
doesn't respond to vinegar, eucerin, antibiotic ointment, etc.

A trainer took a peek and said it was "elephant skin", and recommended
spraying with distilled water (which I'm doing).

I have some doubts. Can anyone think of other possible diagnoses?

Thanks,
Cathy
