Just wondering what breeds you guys really like out there. I'm a dog
lover and it's rare that I meet any dogs that I seriously dislike. My favorites are, in no particular ranking. German Shephards - A well bred GSD is regal and a powerful working dog. There's just something about german shephards that project power and dignity all at the same time. Labradors - I haven't met a lab yet that wasn't a totally affectionate tongue machine. Doberman pinscher - Dobermans are the F-16's of the doggy world. They are sleak and always ready for action. I like the temperment in a well bred/obedient doberman as well. Mini pinscher - I would have never have known about this breed if I didn't adopt one by chance myself. These guys are little clowns that get into trouble a lot. Anyone that owns one must have a sense of humor. English Mastiff - something adorable about a 200lb lap dog. greyhounds - They run real fast ![]() Dogs I dislike.. Depends on the individual dog but i've had bad experiences with chow chows and chihuahuas. I tend to avoid both breeds but i've seen some gems. |

I've never met a dog I didn't like for one reason or another. I know that
when I was a kid I used to get chased and bit in the ankles by a couple of Poms but I've also met nice Poms... Our old neighbors used to have a Rottie that used to terrorize our dog, but in general I love Rotts. I think the thing that makes me love certain dogs (like my dachshund, Rusty) is if they have spunk. Rusty is a little 14 pound dog with tiny little legs, but when he sees a greyhound at the dog park, he will chase it like he could keep up any day! That's what I love about my pup (among other things - he's just an awesome dog!!!). -- Shelley & Rusty http://www.bump.us/rusty wrote in message ... Hanging around this newsgroup and getting to "know" a few PBs vicariously has been useful. I have to agree with this, i'm naturally and maybe stereotypically suspicious of pit bills I meet. Mainly because the people that often have these dogs are "tough guy" types who don't have a clue. These pits end up being ill socialized and unpredictable but i've also met the gentle pit raised by a caring owner. I guess it varies quite a lot. Another "breed" I like seeing but would NEVER own one is a wolf-hybrid. These dogs are so unpredictable but if socialized/bred right they combine the looks and intelligence of a wolf with the better qualities of a dog. Ethically speaking, the world probably needs less of them because they are so unpredictable and people have them for the wrong reasons. |

My favorite breeds:
Pug - Sawyer was DH and my first pet together almost 9 years ago. Rottweiler - Intelligent and intuitive breed (Maxy) Pitbull - I would have never though I would fall so hard for this breed because terriers are the one group of dogs as a whole I couldn't own. The breed characteristics of the Pitbull when properly directed and socialized make it a truly remarkable dog. Breeds at the lower end of my favorite list: Almost All Terrier Breeds - WAY TOO MUCH ENERGY!!! They are like little sugar rushes. I love to exercise my dogs but I need at least one hour of sleep a night. All Other Pugs - I have come to realize that my pug (Sawyer) isn't a pug, he's a very short human. All other pugs I've met (there are 6 in my family) I couldn't live with and neither could he. wrote in message ... Just wondering what breeds you guys really like out there.
