Hi All,

My name is Michael and I have an 8mth old labrador (Ke-ni) who we
found at the Lort Smith Animal hospital. He is black and hs a placid
nature. My partner & I are looking for a dog obedience school close to
chelsea. We also would like to hear from experienced Labrador owners
in how to getting him to stop nibbling on peoples hands and faces as
this could be dangerous in later stages if not stopped. So if anyone
can help we would love to hear from you.

Kind Regards
Michael & Ke-ni (Keen eye)

Hi Michael,

Kudos on seeking obedience training. I think you'll find it extremely
beneficial for all involved!

You may want to follow up indicating what state, province, country
you're in. You've posted to an international newsgroup.

Best Regards,

You might ask your vet clinic's staff for trainer recommendations, and
any local animal welfare groups that does adoptions. They know who is
in your area, ethical and effective at teaching You and the dog.

Try putting a bittter substance such as Bitter Apple on your exposed
skin... or Vicks Vapo-Rub, when you aren't going to be going out
somewhere. Both taste ghastly to the dog. When you know it's likely to
happen, get his attention and toss a toy or ball or tiny treat away from
you.... This is a phase quite normal to retrievers, but can easily be
brought under control. After all, they were developed to hold and carry
things... {grin} Some think they should be "carrying" you.... "grin
again}
