Friend of ours took in a rescued dog that had been left at a house after the
tenants moved. A St. B bitch with a 3mo puppy, and very protective. She had to be tranquilized to gran her. The dog was fairly friendly to strangers are first, but gradually became more and more protective of the owner. She bit the owner's brother when he was visiting and tried to take a picture of her. She was finally crated when company came. The dog developed health problems about 3 years after rescue; heart problems among others. She was placed on meds, but her health didn't improve much. She was x-rayed. With that, the vet discovered that sometime probably in her youth, she had been kicked hard enough to break ribs and permanently deform her chest, aggravating or even causing heart problems. Also, she was full of shot. Thus, she had gone nuts and bitten the owner's brother when he *raised an object to his face* - as some jerk had probably raised a gun to their face, and shot her. RIP Berniece. flick 100785 |
