They're apparently the 5th and final company linked to Wilbur-Ellis?
Or maybe a 6th company? And that crap about "We received
notification today, April 25..."? My *ass*! Do they really want
people to believe that W-E did not notify them until yesterday? Or
that whoever manufactures their food is playing coy? And here's
another thought--if Drs. Foster and Smith contract out to an unknown
manufacturer, who is that company? And do they manufacture foods
for other companies, a la Menu?

Even if no melamine is found in their foods, there's no way I'd ever
patronize their company.

The company F&S contracts with, or the supplier *that* company contracts
with, may have been playing coy.

Everybody's got to talk to their lawyers first and cover their butt :-/.

...NOpe, they're not the fifth apparently. I'm wondering if this is from the
2nd shipment of RCP. If so, they really are being proactive. They checked
it for melamine but decided to send to FDa and withdraw in the meantime.
But, any company using any protein powders should have tracked their
ingredients a loooooooong time ago. The propensity to think that a brick
won't fall on your head, that it always happens to someone else is foolish,
arrogant an erodes trust. It would take ONE phone call to your supplier to
find out if they got it from China or not. Simple.

.......which is really part of the point being driven home here in this
disaster. The pet food companies have no say in pre-processing and
virtually don't know what's going on.

Hold that thought.

Which strikes me as not so very proactive!

They're back peddling to CYA. I'm sure they started looking into it the
minute they read this on the itnernet. How could they not have known? The
news is everywhere.

And here's another thought--if Drs. Foster and Smith contract out to an

How could it be unknown? They pay the bill. Whose name is on the bill? Or do
they meet a cloaked figure names Deepthroat in a parking garage and hand
over laundered cash? I pay a lot of suppliers in our business and I can
positively say that not one of them is "unknown".
