Default Prilosec

My vet told me to give my dog (39 lbs) one Prilosec before bed to help
with her acid reflux. We tried it a couple nights and she was acting
very odd one of the nights, pacing around the room in the middle of
the night. My husband noticed the next day that she appeared
constipated - she was squatting several times in the yard but nothing
came out, so we stopped the Prilosec. Has anyone else found Prilosec
to cause constipation in their dogs? She never had a problem with this
before and hasn't had a problem since we stopped it. Again, we only
gave it to her a couple days.

I never used prilosec but did use cimetadine with Barney for over 5 years
with out any problems. Maybe you can use something else there are other
products out there cimetadine, zantac but what ever you do contact your vet
for the proper dosage.
