My dog is doing something strange...he keeps doing something with his mouth,
and I can't figure out what it is, other than to say it seems like he is
grinding his teeth, thats what the sound sounds like. I thought he might
have had a loose tooth or something, I checked all that out, but no loose
tooth. Any ideas on this? And if he is grinding his teeth, is this common
for a dog, any potential problems with this?

I'd take him to the vet. There could be something with a tooth, his
gums, etc. Checking it out is a good idea.
