"A. Brain" wrote in message ... "Melinda Shore" wrote in message ... In article , A. Brain wrote: I never claimed that he beat his children or that he has more than one wife. I asked what could be worse than the dog story. Romney's latest excuse is that the dog enjoyed riding on top of the car. I don't buy that, but this is a guy who will apparently say anything. And even if the dog did enjoy it, it's dangerous. That dog was in danger of severe injury. When I travel with my dog, I make sure he is wearing a seat belt. We've traveled thousands of miles together for the past seven years. Occasionally, he somehow pulls a Houdini and escapes from the belt, usually when we hit a severe thunderstorm. I had that happen to my dog Muttley when I took him with me in my pickup truck to stay at a KOA camp. He was in a dog safety harness through which I had hooked the passenger seat belt. He was fine the whole way thare (about 1 hour), but upon arrival he really wanted to get out, and somehow the snaps came loose. I wonder how well they'd hold in a crash. They seem solid enough. [snip] Another self-appointed policeman. When you saw the name "Romney", you might have surmised that there was some political content. I've posted here now and then for seven years. Almost always on topic. And it's been my experience that posts complaining about "off topic" posts tend to cause more disruption, as do personal insults and name-calling. I'm sure you've never posted off-topic--WAY off topic. As for "crapping up" a newsgroup, my post was at least about dogs. And Romney was the one who literally "crapped things up" for his dog. It's good that you mentioned this, although it was also in a post 2 days earlier. I agree it was a stupid thing to do, and I have no particular love for Romney, but it was more than 20 years ago. People have in general become more enlightened recently on pet safety and health issues. People on newsgroups love to blow things out of proportion and rag on people for things they have done, and opinions they present for discussion. I like a good argument, and sometimes say things to stir up a hornet's nest. I'm not afraid to speak my mind and post what I think should be heard. I refuse to be intimidated by snide remarks and petty insults. I like your style, and I hope you and people with similar attitude stay and provide balance to the "regular clique". Paul and Muttley, often killfiled and lovin' it! |
