Default Red Bi girl in my home

Red Girl arrived home in Calgary today, surviving the flight
just fine. She came Westjet cargo and, because it's very hot
here right now, I was concerned about her hanging out with
the rest of the cargo. No problem - someone went out there
right away and had her to me within 10 minutes of the plane
landing even though the cargo terminal is not all that close
to the passenger terminal. Even though Westjet contracts out
their cargo, they're still awesome - friendly and willing to
go the extra mile.

I'm not sure whether Friday and Rocky realise that she's here
to stay, and not just another daycare puppy, but both are
absolutely fine with her. Friday will fall in love as soon
as he realises she likes tug as much as he.

She met some of my daycare dogs, and that went awesome, too.
The one year old Chihuahua got a little snarky, but she
handled that in stride. She was not at all intimidated by
the giant Malamute and played for a while with the Pug.

It's 90degF in my house right now, and she's sleeping on the
cool cool tiles in my bathroom, north side of the house,
window wide open. Smarter than me, sitting in front of a hot
computer in a room facing south.

How are you handling the day-to-day (minute-to-minute, given
the whole puppy thing) aspects of having a puppy in the
house, esp. with a bunch of adult dogs there? [Have I
mentioned that she's a great-looking dog? She's a great-
looking dog.]

Awww. They are all so cute together. Any dog who can handle being sniffed
at all ends after a long flight is the right dog for your home!

I've had many puppies here without a problem, most recently a
12 week old Border Collie who comes Mon-Thur. My operation is
small (sorry, *exclusive*) and all dogs are regulars who come
on regular days and I know them very well. I'm busy enough
that if a dog doesn't fit in, they get fired; that's only
happened twice, though, both unneutered males who marked
inside.

That said, I've never dealt with my own puppy in such a
situation, but I've dealt with all of the other puppies I've
taken care of the way I'd look after my own: careful
introduction, lots of supervision with lots of free will,
crates for meals and down time, lots of individual one-on-one
with me and individual dogs. Also, lots of outdoor group play
time - Matt with a frisbee or ball in one hand and a book in
the other (ergo the previous post on light reading, hard to
read deep stuff when time sharing).

It's a full time job, especially with the number of puppies
I've looked after. I'm not sure whether I've mentioned I'm
the only daycare here which takes puppies.

She is! Her eyes, her eyes! I suppose the blue will fade
with age, though.

Plus, she's got a hell of an attitude: playful, but confident.
A name just came to mind. I gotta think.

Is there a name for me hidden in that song?

Congratulations!
Good grief she's cute. I like her 'tude which shows in the photos.
She looks downright confident for such a little gal right after a long
flight!

Hi Matt, you're welcome. She really is something else.

I don't think there's a name for your red darlin' in the song, but I think
Sally or Fanny are worthy of consideration...
