Default Worried about my Regie!

I have a 9 yo Westie/Wheaton

On friday the day before his grooming I noticed he was shaking his
head a lot, ear mites I thought, so did the groomer. I took him to the
vet on Monday, and the Vet at the clinic said he had really bad dirty
stuffed ears. Of course, Regie would not let him get deep inside so
they had to sedate him. I picked the poor little guy up after three,
and had taken him there at 8am!

Well, they gave me some drops to put in twice daily, that's what I
thought would happen. NOW....here's what I've noticed, he can bearly
hear me, its as if he's almost totally deaf!!!

Is this common after they clean out ears??? He had hearing when they
took him to the back. I have to take him back in 7 days, well that's
Monday next week. Should I expect some improvement? When I called
concerned today the person on the phone said it might just be the
sedation, but this does not make sense.

Here is part two of my worry...they found a lump under his chin near
his neck, they thought it was a lymph node at first but it was not.
They were going to take a biopsy, but when they stuck the needle in
the liquid was brownish, even the vet didn't know what it was so they
sent it off. Anyone had an experience like this, and what happened?

His weight is perfect, eats well, enjoys his walks...

I'm quite puzzled about his hearing though! Any comments will be
welcome...

TIA
