I've had family re-union all weekend, balancing with the Darke County Fair.
Dogs had to be on stand all weekend, meaning I missed an awfully lot of family oriented activities because of previous dog club commitments. We did Agility demos, obedience Demos, and Drill team Demos (synchronized obedience ... put on by dog club instructors) , as well as carting and flyball demos, all in an effort to show people how much fun we are having with our well trained dogs, hoping to encourage them to sign up for dog classes. I'm very grateful Riley's owners got him yesterday "http://shell2.lomag.net/ ~moosedog/dogs/riley.htm". Balancing all that with a difficult little dog was not fun. Reka is feeling pretty much ignored this week, mostly because... she's pretty much been ignored ![]() Tuck has been to the fair. And on stand. He's the only Elkhound there. He's beside some uber cute dachshunds, and everyone stops, looks at the dachshunds, ignore Tuck, walk to the next cage beside Tuck and fawn all over the German Shepherd that wants to eat everyone's face off. The dog is dog aggressive, and people aggressive. They mark the dog as dog and people aggressive -STAY AWAY. So what do they do? They stick their hands in the cage with the nasty GSD, and ignore Tuck who would LOVE for them to stop and say hi! Tuck got stuck by the GSD because he's the only dog that won't fence/fight with the GSD. Tuck was like the only invisible dog at the fair. Next year, Instead of putting Norwegian Elkhound on his breed Identification Plaque, I think I'll label his breed as the Great Invisible Dog. That way they will look at him, and at least recognize him by saying "He's NOT invisible!" |

Or perhaps enter him as the great invisible dog, and not take him at all. It would save me a great deal of watering, pottying, exercising, and of course He would put on flawless performances, and no one could argue otherwise. |
