Riddle me this,

Why have you never shared here before?
Have any of your posts to any newsgroup not included your
promotional blogspot link?

Yes, you were. You were marketing your blog. The sole purpose of
your post was not to engage in discussion (hint: this is a
discussion group), but to drive traffic toward your blog.

Lady you sound a bit misguided and ANGRY. If you are so

You are in over your head; at least, over your mind.

It tickled me to read that Melinda had been so angry and hostile to you.
LOL. Aren't you embarrassed, even a little!? Why don't you e-mail me
privately, so as not to waste time here; I believe I can adjust your
perception of hostility. Afterwards, you might even like Melinda!

I haven't kept up with this blog crap, because they all look like some
sort of cluster funk. However, I have kept up with the people addressing
you in this thread. All of them have earned my respect, and the respect
of others. I might never be in their class, but I'm never too ashamed to
asked a question, or to make a note or add a recommended URL.

Dog newsgroups are bombarded, seems like daily, by folks like you trying
to promote their blog. Quite frankly, who needs blogs? Between a good
search engine, and the few dog newsgroups I subscribe to, I can find out
anything I need to know--and then some.

It is nothing personal; most folks here just don't see a need for blogs,
and consider the deluge of invitations a real nuisance. Oh, and that
might be one of the reasons Melinda hasn't started her own blog, as you
suggested. LOL

Now, having the last word means nothing to me; so, go ahead and take
your best shot. I won't be offended. I've responded for your benefit.
Else, I can ignore you until hell freezes over. LOL :-)

Diddy, I read your e-mail, but I can handle this here. As a quite
controversial person, yourself, you know that not everyone here is
appreciated by everyone else here. How many times have I seen people
take shots at you?

To be honest, I don't have a list of Melinda posts [or Diddy posts] that
contained something I considered noteworthy. It is my practice to save
entire threads. If you truly want me to go back and find her comments
that I took note of, I'll try.

In reality, maybe I just remember she speaks a lot! Maybe I am merely
familiar with her name--because she speaks a lot! Its possible, but not
probable, that she has never made an intelligent comment. However, I
believe I'd remember that! Just as a blind squirrel is apt to find a nut
occasionally, a most objectionable poster is apt to spew a pearl of
wisdom occasionally.

As it happens, I've rarely, if ever, said anything she considered
noteworthy. I haven't always been swayed by her argument, but have
usually listened.

For the record, I was merely saying to the OP that I don't like blogs,
and that, by comparison, I might be far more hostile than Melinda.

Oh all the time, but usually the people taking pot shots at me.. I usually
laugh at them, and am very glad we don't agree anyway, because I'm so
relieved to know I'm so NOT like them

I love blogs! Sometimes you find the people who are at the
very top of the fields or who are particularly brilliant
jotting down whatever's on their mind at the moment.
Sometimes you find people taking a disciplined, systematic
approach to addressing problems in areas that interest them.
Sometimes there are people who lead really interesting lives
writing about that, or people whose lives might seem kind of
conventional but who write beautifully about it. Blogs can
be a really great way for families to keep in touch with
each other's day-to-day lives. There are a couple of
fabulous dog mushing blogs.

What I do not love, however, is blogs with posts saying
things like "I sealed my basement today" without saying
more, and what I especially do not love is people following
this sequence of events:

1) search the internet for "make money fast"
2) find a collection of cheesy, crappy documents on
eBay along with marketing instructions. If you've
ever looked at the classifieds in Mother Earth News or
the Farmer's Almanac you're familiar with the kind of
thing they're selling
3) open a PayPal account
4) get an account with blogspot.com
5) post some made-up story about dog training or
grandma's kitchen or your daughter's psoriasis
or whatever to Usenet pointing people at your blog,
where you're selling the crappy documents you bought
on eBay.

Hey! I just told you how you can Get! Rich!! Quick!!! on
the intertubes.
