I just made a cup of coffee. My diet plan includes topping it with
whipped cream, the aerosol variety from a can. After I top off my
coffee. I give him a tiny squit. He is Jubal Early.

Lady and Buck know better and Jack is scared of the sound the can makes,

*I* didn't teach them this, but the dogs have been taught to beg. Not in
any kind of cutesy way either. Khan's figured out that lying quietly under
someone's feet while they're eating is a good way to get yummy morsels
without getting either the human or the dog yelled at by mommy.
Unfortunately, Pan and her big self hasn't learned this, and will
standthisclose and drool.

Just to make you feel better, a little whipped cream is nothing. The dogs
end up eating whatever DH is eating, which could be croissants, milk bread,
french toast, ice cream, pudding, kebab....

Khan is the master of all begging for food tricks and soooo discreet.
I had to laugh out loud when you described Pan's more obvious way of
getting all items of human food.
Jack does the standthisclose and drool method too. He looks at the
others like they are damned fools for staying where I put them when we
are eating.
There is someone in this house that shares his food with my dogs too.
About the only thing I give up is French Fries and they know to hang out
when I am eating them.
Speaking of food and begging, I have a 17 year old cat that only
approaches me if I am eating something from a bowl, like ice cream,
soup, cereal, etc. I don't know if it is the clang of the spoon that is
the tip off or if she can actually smell it. Anyway, she gets the
remains.

Its a good thing Harriet pulls her own weight with the household chores but
if she ever starts slacking off, Maui and Cali will step in and be diligent

In addition to the above, Oppie insists on pre-rinsing the dishes
and pots and pans before they are placed in the dishwasher.

He places his drooly head on my knee if I don't notice that he is
patiently slobbering in an attempt to hurry along my consumption
of yogurt, so that he can ream out the cup.

Dylan liked to oh-so-delicately remove crackers or potato chips
that I allowed to dangle out of my mouth. I don't allow Oppie to
do this, because that Moose-butt doesn't know the meaning of
'delicate.'

I left Buddy cheat on his diet today. We had strict instructions to get 10
lbs off him and I've followed the rules completely till today.

He was such a good boy this weekend on the trip up to camp and then on the
way back that he got about 7 cheese curls on the trip home as a reward.
He's lost 5lbs and gets weighed in next week at the vets. I'm guessing from
the look of him that he's lost another 2 lbs in the last month.
