Not to mention tick checks. If you wait until they're fat enough to
see through even a moderate coat, then you've waited long enough for
them to transmit whatever diseases they might be carrying. If you
find and remove them fast enough, even after they're attached, you
significantly reduce the risk of your dog catching something life-
threatening. Not that I expect Paul to care about something so
trivial, mind you.
