Default disobedience outside home

Hi one and all. I am a new member of this newsgroup. I am looking
forward to enjoyable discussions with all of you.

My dog is now about 9 months old. It is quite obedient when it stays
at home. However when it was brought out for walks, it seldom listens
to orders. It loves to walk by itself but my father even cannot catch
it back after loosing its rope.

Could any member suggest me some potential solutions? Thanks

Believe it or not Jerry Howe's training pamphlet is a good place to start if
you can stomach the garbage he throws along with some of his sound teaching
advice. Don't pay any attention to his crap in this newsgroup, he's a bit
pathological most of the time, but go to his web site if you can find it and
download his nutty training manual. There's some knowledge buried deeply in
that stuff. I'm certain your problem with your dog can be corrected fairly
easily and Jerry's methods are basic, very simple and they will work with a
bit of thought from a dog's point of view...
