Default Calgary Dog stories

When the family first moved to Calgary 51 years ago, a big dog ran
across the street to check out the new-to-him car. Jim's grandfather
was helping with the move. He opened the car door and began patting the
dog. A second later, the dog's owner was over to pull his vicious dog
away and to warn the new neighbors about him. This was mid-pat.

My MIL goes to a bridge club. One day, another bridge player brought
her Bichon Frise. MIL admits to never having liked small dogs, but she
put together that this little one must have been in the car for a long
time and was probably thirsty. She got him water from the tap, and he
drank. Months went by before the bridge player brought her dog again.
He marched right up to MIL and looked at her until she got him his water.

They're notoriously difficult to housebreak for some reason. I always
thought it was the owners of little fluffy dogs, but it really does seem
to be a breed thing.

Janet,

Have you noticed that the males are harder to housebreak than the bitches?
I haven't known many bichons but the dogs were all not housebroken and the
bitches were.

Almost all of the Bichons I've dealt with have been male, now that you
mention it! Interesting!
