Woman Checking Mail Attacked, Killed By Dogs

OIL CENTER, Okla. -- A woman checking her mail was attacked and killed by a pack of
dogs in south-central Oklahoma on Monday, authorities said.

According to officials with the Ada Fire Department, the dogs belonged to the woman's
son-in-law, who lived next door near Oil Center. Emergency crews found the woman dead
just after noon, lying in a nearby street.

Authorities said she had bite marks all over her body.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they reported seeing somebody shoot the dogs
with a shotgun. Four of the dogs were killed, but the rest got away.
