Default hartz recall

"Sharon Too" spoke these words of wisdom
in :

Salmonella in rawhides is not new. They used to be in a big bulk barel
in grocery stores until the CDC made the link between rawhide salmonella
and human contact with them. Most healthy folks might not contract it,
but the young, old and immuncompromised are at great risk.

In fact whenever there is chronic diarhhea in a dog or cat, vets should
ask if there are any humans ill in the household. About 36% of healthy
dogs and 17% of healthy cats are carriers and can transmit some strains
to humans. If a pet has a compromised immune system it could be passed
to them as well.

I took my dog to the vet last year and the vet diagnosed strep throat. My
vet asked who in the house had a sore throat, and I sent my husband to the
doctor to be treated because of the dog.
