Default Jack had surgery (long)

Karla said in part......
I'd be sending your consulting Vet a big thank you..........
_______________________
Oooh Karla, you know I will. I bought a little pewter key ring with an
enamel dog bone, a dog dish, I love my dog, etc on it and I am going to
mail it to her, along with a brief description of what happened. I kind
of think she already knows what happened, because she referred me to her
friend/Vet.
BTW she is my long time Vet, that left the practice. I found her in the
phone book, called her at home, asked her to refer me to a Vet for Buck
(for a check up). She told me she left the practice because it was sold
out from under her, she thought she was in line to buy it, and someone
else outbid her. She left because she was pissed. The Vet she referred
me to was at her old practice. Today, when I called I repeated that I
brought Jack there because Dr C said to, and that I did not know if I
would continue to come there or not. They told me Dr C may be coming
back. I am hoping, that would make me so happy. I always told her I
don't know what I would do without her, when Buck and Lady's time comes.
I dread the day and I really need her and trust her.
I am going to mail the thank you and the key ring. The poor woman has
done enough, she should not have to endure a phone call from me. My
calls are like my posts.....endless
I am proud of Jack's temperament too. The first dog he ran into (I
peeked) was a dog with an Elizabethan collar on. I thought he would
flip, but he just calmly followed the tech.
Btw, they told me they were sending Jack home with an E-collar.
Duhhhhh, why I wondered. I am old. I thought they meant electronic
collar.

really can't get enough of that because he just looks so ominous. He is

Poor Jack! As the former owner of an evil, scary brindle dog, I can
sympathize. Elliott, too, was sweet. He just wanted to be
everyone's friend, but no one wanted to be his.

I know the difference between cut and move. Jack is fine or appears
to be. About 1/3 of his belly is cut open and the incision goes right
and what appears to be into his penis. I am going to leave it alone
until I go to have his stitches removed and try my question again. I am
happy he is well, but I want to know.

I wonder if she meant that they had to re-route some things inside?
I don't know *why* they'd have to do that, and I would expect a
vet to explain the procedure to me in as much detail as I needed to
understand it.

I can't help but wonder if there was any bladder problems in his
surgery, especially after hearing about Harriet's bladder being nicked
during a spay.

Could be. Or if they had to move something around internally, it
may have caused some minor, short-term incontinence.

I will post if I ever get an answer, thanks for caring about Jack. He
is great.

He sounds like a dog I would like. I have a soft spot for those
brindle boys.

Ya know, there are very few stray dogs around here. I blamed it on
the swiftness of the Buzzards. They are quite capable of dragging a
large dog from the side of the road to the woods, within hours, after
having been run over.

There is a Maya fable about The Bird Who Cleaned the World--the
buzzard/vulture. Scavengers like them do a great service.

I think I will give the credit to the Neuter
Commuter. They will do anyone's dog, regardless of your financial
ability for 20.00. I think they will do it for 15.00 if you are
disabled, or low income. How great is that?

It's awesome! I wish that sort of thing were available everywhere.
The mobile aspect is clever, and a good example of thinking
outside the box to really address the problem.

Poor Jack, Poor you for having to go through all of this. I'm really glad Jack
is home and doing well.
