I am planning to obtain a Tibetan terrier within the next
six months. I have not seen this breed live yet, except for
dogs on tv on the Westminster dog show.
Six months may be a little short. In a similar situation, it
took me over a year from the time I started searching until my
Australian Shepherd puppy came home. Much of that time involved
locating a responsible breeder and then waiting for the next
planned litter.
Can someone who owns a Tibetan terrier tell me what kind of
health problems I might encounter and how to avoid them
when purchasing one.

Great advice Matt.
I know of people who have been on waiting lists for specific breedings for
decades.
If you are less picky, then a year out is a good guess as to when to target
having a pet after the breeder search has begun.
