Well I took the advice and kept Shadow & Remi outside as long as possible
and then we all went inside. Shadow is having nothing to do with her. He
growls whenever she comes near him. Of course she is enamored of him and
stops whatever she is doing to watch him intently when he is in her
vicinity!
Is there something else we could be doing to get her to sleep through the
night or is she just too young yet (7 weeks today). We did the alarm
clock/stuffed toy/lots of exercise thing. I feel like we have a newborn
again

She IS an infant. I am a firm believer of bringing home older puppies. If
there is no dire reason to bring home such a young dog, I would have left
her with her mother and siblings for another four-five weeks. They just
learn so much from their mother about how to be a good dog. Once an "older"
puppy (hell, at 11-12 weeks they are hardly "old") comes home, it's easier
for you to teach her to be a good citizen, since she's already got a solid
foundation as a good dog.
But that's not helpful in your case, I know. So, you're right, she's a
newborn, and you will have to treat her as such, at least for a few months.
