Where you live plays some importance as to what your dog should be innoculated for - what does your vet say? -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

Should be a series of vaccinations (3) every four weeks at ages 6-8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks. Then Rabies at 4 months if required in your country. As for non-rabies vax, every year thereafter or whatever your veterinarian's protocol is. If Lepto is in your area (as it is here) a yearly booster is in order. It's included in the "distemper" vaccination known as the DHLPP (first one is without the lepto). |

To be effective a vaccination requires a response from the immune system. Any surgery, minor or not, knocks the immune system down for a while. It is not the optimum time for a vaccination. Reading on vaccinations: http://www.caberfeidh.com/PuppyVax.htm http://www.caberfeidh.com/Revax.htm There's some links at the second site - read those too. buglady take out the dog before replying |
