Default Dog Help: Urinating in The House

For almost a week, I have been caring for my mom. It is an honor for
me, because it is something I had anticipated for many years. She has
this dog and I knew that I would be caring for her dog too. This I was
'mentally' ready for in every way, and even got a place with hard-wood
floors. Therefore there would be no chance of 'spoiled'
carpenting..... (when they would join me....). Much has been done to
prepare for this day (for her and her dog).....

I have lots of awareness and done lots of things....., etc etc etc
etc.... Trying to do my best....

The dog is becoming a huge problem, 'actually' saving 90-95% of her
urine for my floor... no joking. This tiny dog is 'literalllllly'
saturating my floor.... It is putting ALOT of stress on my mom, and
she is in bed 24-7 right now. She is totally incapable of getting into
her apt, and it would be unfair to leave the dog in 'her apt'......
All of this is making her already very bad health conditions worst. I
want to solve this problem, without hurting my mom....The dog simply
'doesn't want to behave', I have tried many things. (have learnt alot
about dog training, to some degree)

I am trying to walk the dog as much as I can, but it is impossible to
walk the dog every 2 hours (or less), 24-7, almost. It is impossible
to walk the dog for an 'entire' hour at a time, every 4-6 hours. I am
working FT and taking care of my mom FT..... My mom could walk the dog
3 times a day, for 15-30 minutes, only....

Sorry for the long message, and I am a new comer here...... Hope you
are having a nice day.

Many questions - how old is the dog, has the dog actually been
housebroken at your mother's apartment, and how are you containing the
little beast in your home? Crates, x-pens, bathrooms, scheduling
feedings, etc will solve the problem if you keep plugging at it.

With a tiny dog and the inability to be home to take it out, you may
even consider litterbox training.

Default Dog Help: Urinating in The House

Well, I would like to thank all of you first of all. It is great to
see such a response. smile

First of all the dog is an adult dog. I did fail to say that in the
wee hours of the morning. It was 1am, when writing that.... The dog,
she was fine at my mom's place.... it is a but if a change in
routine.... But it is a very peaceful, loving, and quiet home here.

Will talk to you more later tonight wink....

thanx again smile

Default Dog Help: Urinating in The House

Okay ... A moment I can think.... A question? Yes.... This seems to
be more of an unusual situation......

The dog has no apparent health issues and was fully House Trained for
many years. I am very good to the dog, and been 'trying' to walk her
plenty.... ie Yesterday 10am, 4:30pm, 8pm and 11pm. My home is a good
place for her, and there is NO abuse at all in any form. She is not
confined to one room, but the dog spends most of her time with my mom.

Yet, this morning at 7am, there is a massssssive 'accident' the size
of all the urining outside for all 4 walks combined: 'directly' in
front of my bedroom door. It would have been done about 3am. That was
when I heard her outside of my door a few times, because it woke me
up.

You see, about 3/4 of the time atleast, outside: She is 'spotting'
rather than 'going'. The Other 1/4 is a smallish puddle. She has very
good control, over her urinating.... I have observed, very closely....
She is a healthy dog...

The only 'real' difference, is it 'turns out' my mom had the dog on a
100% human food diet, and I am trying to be honorable. I have got her
actually semi-expensive dog food, and am combining it with some human
food. Not too much and not too little at a time..... Been leaving
moderate amounts of water out, fresh....

If this was a bladder problem(no control), there would be 'solid
accidences' too and the accidents would be in other places too ie
beside/on my mom's bed.... Not that I am wanting the accidents on my
mom's bed.... Plus the puddles would not be specifically placed, to
saturate my entire floor. The times she saturates my floor, is either
when I am working or sleep: not around basically. There are seldom any
'messes' when I am home and awake.

The other difference I can think of.... Is my mom is retired. Hence
she could give alllllllllll of her attention to the dog. It has been
this way for quite some time. Even her jobs before, she could take the
dog with her, because they were walking jobs ouside. So there would be
the 2 differences: 100% human food, and 300% attention 24-7.

I will look into the info mentioned.... just later today.... life is
busy here.....

Thanx alllllll

Ellie

You heard her, but didn't get her outside? She has been leaving puddles
everywhere, but when you heard her moving around, it didn't occur to you
that she might be looking for a place to pee?

No, there wouldn't. Bladder and bowels are separate systems; an infection,
blockage, or problem with one doesn't necessarily affect the other.

and the accidents would be in other places too ie
beside/on my mom's bed...

She left a lake directly outside your door, you said. Your mother is
sleeping outside your bedroom door?

Default Dog Help: Urinating in The House

Hi all, just wanted to thank you very much.....

I literally just discovered that my landlord outlawed having any dogs
on all of his properties, very very strictly. It is in my lease. I was
simply honoring my promise to the Landlord, about fully reading the
lease.... And discovered this is a part of my lease for my apt. I
thought ....... wellllll I thought it wasn't there....... I was
wrong.... Seeing that I am in a year lease, which started November 1,
my mom's dog is going to have to go to another place. Otherwise I am
going to be seriously risking, being evicted from my apt, because that
was stated....

So I guess that definitely means there will be no more 'mess' problems
neither.... I am deeeeeeeeeeply sorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry, to have to inform
my mom. She has had her dog for alot of years, and I HATTTTE to
separate the two of them. Though, her health is very very very bad
right now and I am the only one she has to care for her. She cannot
even get into her apt at allllll..... (can't even stand up or sit up,
at allllllllllll.....)

Sooooo I am afraid that 'life is life' sometimes........
Unfortunately........But I realllllllllllllly feeeeeeel bad for
mom........

Anyways, thank you very much everybody. It has been allllllll
appreciated. Ps. I will be learning about all of the "House Training"
stuff still.

Hope you all have a very merry christmas and a wonderful day!

JMO, but this Ellie creature was a troll. Again, just my opinion, but I
don't buy her bullshit latest post, with all those emotionally dragged out
words/spellings.
