It's been 8 days since Buddy messed up the sciatic nerve in his left leg.
He's improved some but it's at a stand still as far as improvement goes. We've managed to decrease the pain medication and he's walking better but he still does not have full control of his left leg so it's back to the vets tomorrow. I feel he needs a bit more predinisone we'll see what the vet says. Celeste |

I just got back from the vets and the vet agrees Buddy needs to be on the
pred for longer than the initial 5 day so it's another 5 days at the high dose then I'm to check in with him on Wednesday and if he's improved more we'll start to taper it off some. He's walking on his leg but is sitll having pain and doesn't always know that his toes are bent under. That's what worries me the most. I'm being very careful to keep him off the concrete and out of the stones. That's the one good thing with all this snow it means walking him isn't too bad since the snow gives him some cushion in places where there isn't any grass. What sucks is we are to have ice tonight. Even keeping it cleaned off doesn't help when it gets icy out. I have two huge bath towels that I put down on it every time he goes out. My neighbors probably think I'm some nut case out there draping towels on the dog ramp every time he uses it. By using the towels it gives him enough traction he can go up and down it easily without slipping. Celeste "Janet Boss" wrote in message ...
