Default House Training a Puppy.......UGH!!!!

When we brought Bubba home, our new puppy, it was an exciting time for
everyone. How soon did I forget how rough the house training would
be!

In order for the homecoming to proceed as smoothly as possible, I
found it a good idea to spend a little bit of time in preparation.

One of the major challenges of owning a dog is the issue of house
training. You need equip yourself with some basic knowledge and a
positive attitude.

Come visit the blog I kept on how I made it through the puppy house
training experience, you also can see a picture of the infamous Bubba

Sistah Krewl! I amused myself today by putting a piece of
cellophane tape on top of Carmine's nose when he kept helping me
wrap presents.

A most excellent way to handle the situation, I think.

Can you both work on those two to remain puppies 8 weeks old for a just

I'll try, but her legs just keep growing!

Does it help that she's [relatively] angelic? She's brilliant in a
totally different way than Franklin, who I thought was a pretty smart
cookie. She's more at ease with herself, more cautious but ultimately
more confident. She totally fascinates me. I watch her wheels turn all
day long and am in awe.

My digital camera has a short video mode, which I honestly don't know
how to use. I took some short video 2 weeks ago when we had snow. In
the second one, I called her "Marcie - puppy - puppy" (she had been here
only a short time!). When I loaded and played it today, she got all
excited and came racing over to me. Very cool. She's so responsive.
I'm always perplexed when puppies don't seem to know their names - it
happens so fast! She most definitely knows that SHE is Marcie and
........

I better stop gushing over her - what's-his-name may start bitching that
I need to blog on "myspace".

I don't have a myspace account and don't intend on starting one for
what's his name! I share puppy growth (physical and behavioral) in
appropriate forums, so I'm not very concerned.

On another note, the weather is looking good and unseasonably warm over
the next couple of weeks. Lucy turns 11 on 12/31. I need to find a
good place to take her to swim. Not easy around here in the winter,

I wonder what the health regulations would say about humans and dogs
sharing a warm-water, handicapped accessible facility?

Like, humans only on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays, and dogs (and
handlers) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. And even if you had to
restrict it to one species or the other I have no doubt that it would be
hugely popular.

I can think of 20 people, right off the top of my head, who would love
to be able to swim themselves and/or their dogs in warm water.

And it should have crates w/ forced air dryers and wall mounted
blowdryers in front of lighted mirrors in the changing rooms so that you
and your dog(s) can stop off for a swim and go on your way looking
presentable, and without risking frostbite from wet hair...

I'd buy a membership to that country club in a heartbeat.
