Default Good news and bad news

As usual.

Lucky ( fka Klondike) is here and settling in. He's a good dog, sweet,
kind of oafish and really calm. We actually considered Goober. He's a
Goober kind of dog. He's pretty big for an Eskie, 40 lbs. His hearing
is pretty much shot but his vision is fine. He doesn't have cataracts,
it turned out to be nuclear sclerosis.

Anyway, the bad news is that I took him in for a complete exam and we
found out that he has heart worms. We are starting treatment for them
early next week when they get the meds in. Based on the x-rays he
shows mild damage, 1A and 2B according to the paperwork.
The prognosis is good though and he's relaxed enough we shouldn't need
to crate him during the next couple of months. Other than a mild ear
infection and a couple of ticks everything else was fine in the tests.
It could always have been worse.

Oh well, much like children they don't come with a warranty... :-)
