Probably a retired policeman from somewhere that wasn't looking for glory. Idaho has
a lot of those. In any event, he certainly was a hero. The dogs' owners should be
warned, "next time they're allowed to roam free and get in harm's way, they won't be
returned to you."...AAC
Dogs are not our whole lives, but they make our lives whole....Roger Caras
Absolutely excellent quote!
Hang on a sec, I'm gonna read that out loud to my dogs (2 Sheppards,
retired police doggies, 1 Beagle)....
HA! They all sat up and commenced tail wagging!
Another one of my favorite quotes: "I wish I was the person my dog thinks I
am."...AAC
AaaaHAHAHAHA!!
Decent humans (not DemocRATs) have that stuff called guilt, shame,
etc.
Dogs are not really too bothered by that stuff...
However YOU started something with my dogs! Used to be I'd swivel my
desk chair around to go get a coffee or whatever and my dogs would
largely ignore me because they have highly accurate internal atomic
clocks so they already know when treat-time is or isn't.
Now, thanks to YOU, I swivel my desk chair around and they perk up
waiting for another reading!
Hahahahah!!
Mrs. PG says, "They don't even know what yer sayin', they're just
dogs, and two of 'em were in a union so they can't be all that smart."
So I take the dogs down to the family room, I sit, dogs sit, then I
stand holding a piece of paper AND THE DOGS PERK UP. I sit, give Mrs.
PG the piece of paper, dare her to try it, she stands holding the
paper and the dogs ignore her! I successfully repeat the
experiment...
And Mrs. PG gets snippy, "And I suppose you think that means WHAT?"
Hahahahah!!
I love it! But you can't kid me. Bet Mrs. PG is the one that feeds them.

We have a Socialist Division of Labor.
PG handles midday snacks, before and after midday snack walks, and
last-call walk.
Mrs. PG handles dinner and after-dinner walk.
Do you really have two shepherds that were rescue or police dogs?....AAC

Yep. They were 4-legged cops. Not rescue doggies, not cadaver
doggies, not bomb-sniffers. They were real cops. Y'know when you see
on TV the officer decide to send the doggie after a fleeing snack? And
then a couple of minutes later you hear that snack begging GOD HIMSELF
AND ALL HIS ANGELS for help? That's what these doggies did.
We attended a week-long training program to transition them (and that
was after they had initially been transitioned from being cops).
During their original transition the two dogs became friends so we
decided to take both. (I know, I'm such a softy...)
Bad News: Whenever they see any non-white person they stop and point.
(It can be very awkward...)
Good News: They no longer chase down and eat every non-white person
they see.

You should write a book.

HA! But I would have to stop slapping DemocRATs around...

Why were they taken off the force?

They got "old."

Are they both males?

1 male, 1 female. They're like brother and sister.

Sorry if I'm being nosey. I
really have a thing for dogs, some of my very best friends are four-legged....AAC

Same here. My Beagle is smarter, nicer, friendlier, and more
trustworthy than many humans I've met. And my Shepherds are smarter
and more dependable than every DemocRAT that has ever lived or ever
will live...

Dogs aren't our whole life, but they make our lives whole...Roger Caras

Too true!
