We have created a website solution for breeders of all kinda to easily
and affordably get their business online. I wanted to get some
feedback from you guys though. What do you think? Is this something
you would use?

Comments and/or criticism is appreciated as we continue to try and
better serve you. Thanks.

Really? I'm in the process of getting together a kennel
management system using mysql and php, and when it's done
I'll be giving it away as freeware. Are you giving yours
away?

No we are not giving it away. We charge $20 per month for the hosting
(which is extremely competitive for what we are offering) but that
includes the Control Panel to manage their website and unlimited
support. We do offer the first month for free to give it a test drive
and see if they like it.

Really? dogtec.com is free for fewer than 100 dogs and
$9.95/month for the first 500 dogs. They also offer a 10%
discount if you pay for a year in advance. That includes
hosting.

Right. We are aware that there are competitors out there that offer
lower prices. However, you have full control over your website with
our designs. You are provided a control panel that allows you to build
pages, slideshows, forms, change logos, colors, fonts, etc.. You can
even do some Search Engine Optimization work. Basically we take a
hands-off approach that allows you to build your website the way you
want it. Not to mention you can change/add/remove content whenever you
choose because you become your own webmaster.

Well, I tend to think that you feel the need to advertise
your stuff in a discussion group where advertising really is
completely non grata suggests that you're not getting
business. And, if you're competing with other websites that
are getting a *lot* of business, like dogtec.com, and doing
badly, that suggests that there may be a problem with your
price.

One thing that I'm sort-of interested in but not that many
kennel software companies are doing anything about (they
love to lock in their customers!) is a common XML schema
for pedigrees. Maybe even standardize it.

Search engine optimization, btw, makes you look low-rent.
