I finally made an album of our Family Dogs. If anyone is interested, there
are a number of photo's of Whiskey in there. She is the dog who has cancer
now. She's been a wonderful dog, our second grandpuppy, long before any of
the granchildren were born. Her mother was a rottweiler and her father a
Rhodesian Ridgeback. She has coped well, going from an only dog, to one of
a pack, and then three little human brothers in under two years time. We
love her dearly.

best,

Are Robin and Kim your daughters? They are very pretty.
I never heard you talk about Monte or Coda before.
Whiskey and Gracie look great.

Coda was a big Chocolate Lab that one of our sons in law brought into our
family. He died suddenly, one afternoon, while our daughter and son in law
to be were both at work. David came home at lunch to walk him, just as he
usually did. And when he returned home from work in the afternoon, Coda was
laying in his usual spot, dead. We never knew what he died from. There
were no outward signs, no vomiting, nothing. He looked like he simply laid
down and went to sleep. I checked into having a necropsy done, but was told
that if we chose to do that, we couldn't have Coda's ashes back. I was told
that it was a state law. David and Kim wanted Coda back, they didn't want
him simply 'disposed of', so we chose to forgo the necropsy and simply have
him cremated so we could get his ashes back. He was such a sweet boy, we
called him the Gentle Giant. He weighed close to 120 pounds.

Monte is also a Chocolate Lab, Whiskey's *little sister*. She's a sweet
girl too. Robin & Craig got her when Whiskey was about 4 years old. She
too has been around since well before the grandkids.

Thank you, yes, Robin & Kim are two of our daughters.

Td,
Thanks for the pics. Whiskey is a beautiful dog. I think she looks
very much like her dad (Rhodesian). Jubal Early is part RR (his back
half) Your sweet old Murphy was a happy dog. I know you said you got
Merlin from Craigslist. Looks like you got him not a minute too soon.
He surely was skinny when you got him. I know hounds are, but he sure
looks better now. Thanks again for the pics. You have a great family 2
legged and 4 legged

Merlin looked so fragile when we got him. Very stick-like, almost. He
weighed 63 pounds when we got him. We took him to the vet right after
getting him. He now weighs just around 80 pounds, give or take a pound or
two. He's muscular, has muscular legs and body now. He looks so much
better. I have to get my husband to work on my scanner, so I can scan in
some new photo's of him. I take all my pictures with a regular camera, so I
have to scan them into my computer. One of these days I'll get a digital
camera.

Yeah, Whiskey doesn't look much like her momma at all, 'eh? If we didn't
KNOW her mother was a rottie, we probably wouldn't believe it. She does
have that ridge that goes down her back. I've got a friend in Australia who
has, I thik a Mastiff/Ridgeback mix. It's amazing how much Whiskey looks
like his dog. We exchanged photo's of the dogs, and you'd swear they could
have been from the same litter. Of course his is a lot taller than Whiskey,
but the coloring, facial structure, build, the same.

That picture of Murphy with Jensen was taken after she was diagnosed with
cancer. When I first found that old photo, and looked closely at it, I was
shocked at how old and sickly she looked. I came across the photo a couple
years after Murphy had died. Seeing her everyday, it never really struck me
how much she'd aged, how *different* she looked. But when I found that
photo, I just sat down and cried at the realization of how sick she was
then. I scanned it into my computer so Jensen could see it when ever he
wanted to. He remembered Murphy as does Jake. She was an amazing dog. I
love my Gracie to death, and Merlin is a big goof, but Murphy was my heart
dog.

Tiny, I'm so glad to see all your photos finally! It's nice to put faces
with names, human and canine!

You have a handsome family, both human and canine. Not a dud in the bunch!

Aww... Thanks for all the pictures.

I really enjoyed the pool pups, although all of the dog pics are fun to see...

Thank you Celeste. It was Merlin's eyes/expression that drew me to him too.
He is the first dog I ever got from looking at a photo. Other dogs I've
always met in person. But there was something about Merlin that kept
drawing me back to him, his photo. He's got a real attitude about him,
especially in person. If Merlin could talk, we have no doubt he'd have a
lot to say! LOL, Gracie would be saying "I love you, I love you, please
don't ever leave me, I love you." Merlin, on the other hand, would be
telling us to '**** off' quite regularly, if he could.
