Hi, I have a female Pug that is 17 months old. She has really large breast/nipples. I took her to the vet today regarding this issue and found out that she is lactating. She has no puppies nor is she pregnant. The vet said this may be a false pregnancy. They took some milk sample for testing and it came back as there being some bacteria in the milk (which may be infected). My dog is now on antibiotics for 2 weeks until we go back for a follow-up.
My concern is I don't know what kind of condition this may be or if my dog will need to go into surgery. If anyone is familar with this condition, please send some word of advice. I'm really worried for her since she is so young and we love her so much. |
