As a reality show fan, I have waited in great anticipation for The Greatest
American Dog to premier. After 15 minutes, I kept hoping it would get better. After a half hour, I wondered, with all the dog talent out there, I swear the talent scouts sat at the local Krispy Creme waiting for the first candidate walking down the street with their dog hoping to recruit them instead of getting out there and searching for real talent. The only dog that I saw of merit was a skateboarding bulldog, which WAS pretty cute! Can we vote them all off and start over? Come on! With all the talent out there, They can do better than that! |

I must admit I missed it, but when I heard about it in an advertisement I was hoping for a show full of Tucks. Nick |

I'm sure that their primary objective is "entertainment", and towards that end, they probably did what they do on every one of these - put together a bunch of people (and dogs, I suppose) that are least likely to get along with each other. I haven't watched the show. But, I'm disappointed in Teresa. She was Khan's obedience instructor, and was very, very helpful when we were struggling to get him over his various phobias. Suja |

I'm certain many others were likewise disappointed, for many of the same reasons you were disappointed. You should hear what firefighters say about programs and movies involving firefighting scenes. They tear those scenes to shreds. LOL The general public, and I'm not much better, has little idea of what truly awesome things dogs can do; so, any little trick makes the viewer go gah-gah. To further illustrate my point, my black Chow Chow, Tang, blows the minds of many who meet him. Why? Simply because he is unexpectedly friendly. LOL If I were to teach him some common tricks, we could probably make a living, performing at the mall entrance. :-) _______________________________ "Some people learn something new every day, others just get 24 hours older." |

I was dissappointed because the skill levels of these dogs were as if they went to the local dog park and said, I'll take YOU, YOu, you, and YOU. Except there must have been some criteria, because these dogs came from across the country. They were hardly the best America has to offer. World Wide Fido net is also launching a competition for dogs on TV (I think it's on cable, it's certainly not on something i get) And the level of competition there will be ramped up 100 fold. Tuck won a competition at Worldwide Fido net, but seeing the competition there, I wouldn't embarrass myself by entering a competition for the best of the best. I'm sure Worldwidefido.net's competition will be worthy to watch. |
