Some of us *enjoy* non-hostile posts once in awhile. I still didn't get the memo where you were elected net/group nanny. You're just about the only person here who's ever given anyone crap for being interested in dogs, and you haven't shown very much interest in them, yourself. Actually I'm one of the few who didn't get involved in all the sparrow crap either. What exactly did all that have to do with dogs, again? You live to snipe at people and simply can't understand any other way of life. Carry on............... I'm sorry that I got involved, but Sparrow came into the "Out Of Control" thread with some cheery (although admittedly rather saccharine), comments, and then was "dissed" by Janet and Melinda, et al. Yes, this is usenet, and it is a free public forum where anyone may say anything, even if it is hurtful. Her posts were on-topic, positive, and supportive. Unfortunately she chose to say kind things about me, and got slammed, which resulted in her having a serious melt-down. She has been advised to stay away from usenet and RPDB. But let's not drift this thread away from its original focus. Animals can have interspecies friendships and can learn to get along nicely even with many differences. Why can't we do the same here on RPDB? Paul and Muttley |

That wouldn't be hard to remedy, IFF you were interested in doing so. Hey, I did make a positive comment. And I figured you could not resist trying to attract more flies, which can be done increasingly well by: vinegar, honey, and bullshit. Speaking of which, and to make this dog-related, Muttley found some probable coyote poop, sniffed at it, and then promptly rolled in it, covering the side of his head and part of his front leg with a stinky glop that he wore proudly on the way back to the house after his walk. I tied him up, wiped the worst of the mess off of him, added some peppermint soap, and hosed him down. He didn't like it much at first, but eventually he seemed to get used to it and did not resist. He "shore" smells better now! Paul and the Peppermint Mutt |

Yet it was *you* who took the opportunity to belittle, demean, mock and diss a perfectly innocuous post that *some* of us find a pleasant distraction. Others post off topic stuff here. Not that this was even *off topic* to the behavior of dogs. td |

No, I mocked you, for 1) your drippy gooey hollow insincere dishonest cloying sentimentality, and 2) encouraging drive-by spam. The first is personally annoying; the second is a problem for the newsgroup in general. -- Melinda Shore - Software longa, hardware brevis - Prouder than ever to be a member of the reality-based community |
