Default Feeding beagle pup 6 months

Hi -I have a beagle bitch who is TOTALLY disinterested in her kibble! She
turns her nose up at breakfast -I remove it and offer her lunch, which she
does not eat, so I remove that and offer dinner, which she usually does, but
not all of it -bear in mind I only put in the third of her days ration, not
all three portions together!

She gets no other treats during the day -if I'm doing a bit of training I
offer bits of kibble(from lunch or whatever) and she will have some then,
but I am talking about very small amounts.

I have experimented and squirted the contents of a fish oil capsule onto her
breakfast, and she gobbled it. But this is no good -she has to eat what I
give her!! I am feeding her Arden Grange chicken puppy kibble - tried a bag
of Nutro puppy (lamb) -same thing. I am not going to keep chopping and
changing foods! HELP!!! I know she is not going to starve herself, but I'm
finding it very irritating!!

Are you absolutely certain that you have a *BEAGLE*?

Does it have big floppy ears, and look a lot like Snoopy?

Post proof or retract!

How long has this been going on? How is her body condition?

Since I got her.....initially she would sniff her food, and then run to eat
my other dogs food(adult lamb and rice, still Arden Grange) he is no longer
here (( But only the evening meal......she has more or less turned her
nose up at her food since day one -obviously I leave her dinner down for 40
mins or so then I remove it, give her fresh food in the morning (by which
time she should be starving) but NO. Her coat is in great condition, she
looks and behaves fine....

If she is at a good weight and behaves fine, maybe she doesn't need to eat
as much as you think she needs to eat and is self regulating? How much are
you feeding her and how much do you think she eats? How large is she and
how much exercise does she get?

She gets 250grams per day, divided into three portions, two of which she
doesn't eat! She weighs approx 20 lbs -normal looking! I take her out for a
40min walk down the canal , she plays inside running up and down with the
cat, some days she gets a 15 min walk later on in the day, she appears to
all intents and purposes absolutely normal, I'm just flummoxed as to why she
wont eat breakfast or lunch, and even when she turns her nose up at dinner
and I take it away, she is not hungry the next morning!!

Heh.

I knew I could get some pictures out of you!

Seriously, she's adorable.

I can almost smell her from here.

She looks pleasingly plump, too, so I think she's probably getting
enough food, relative to her level of activity.

How much kibble per day does she actually consume each day? Until you
can figure that out, it's hard to know whether she's getting "enough".

Have you talked to her breeder?
